It is time to get you baker’s hat out and whip up some fun cookies for your Valentine!I took the easy way out on the cookies because I much prefer the decorating part of the project. I used Betty Crocker from the pouch (so I could rack up another Box Top for the school). I rolled out the dough and then cut some big hearts and some littler ones from a cookie cutter set I have had for ages from my first Tupperware party! I love my new Wilton cookie sheets too…got them for Christmas….from me to me!
While the cookies were cooling I made the frosting. I used the recipe that I like the best when decorating with sugars and candies that need to stick. There is always a bunch of extra that I refrigerate and let my kids use on Graham Crackers for some kid friendly decorating fun!I put some of the frosting in my Pampered Chef Decorator and used that to put the dots of frosting on the big hearts in the centers (to be used like glue). I used a knife to spread frosting on the little hearts in order to cover them for the candies to have a sticky surface. When I put the candies on, I do it over a baking sheet so the candies don’t get wasted. TIP: Collect the candies for decorating over time. I try to buy one every so often when I am grocery shopping because all once can be pretty pricey! When I am done, I pour the leftovers into a bowl to add to the Graham Cracker decorating session for the kids. Then I stick the little hearts onto the frosting dot centers of the big hearts and love fills up my kitchen. Okay, seriously…they are super cute and super super YUMMY!
