I am updating the original post that I shared in 2013 with an updated recipe that uses gluten free croissants. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease several years ago and have found ways to still make lots of my favorite things without using gluten or foods with preservatives.
Use Gluten Free Crescent Roll Mix to make your croissants. Stuff them with pizza sauce, skim mozzarella cheese and Jones Breakfast Ham. This alternative is a bit more agreeable with my dietary restrictions which makes it a healthier choice for a crescent roll pizza lunch party!
I made these awesome little crescent roll pizzas for my teenage son and his friends when they came home for lunch. They take turns going from house to house and the moms cook. I love it!
They LOVED them so I thought I would share because they are super easy and so yummy.
Ingredients: Crescent Rolls from refrigerator section, pizza sauce, mozzarella string cheese and pepperoni.
Roll out the crescent rolls on to a baking sheet and put a little bit of pizza sauce on each then spread around. Add half of a string cheese stick to the middle with a small amount of pepperoni. Roll them up. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
Put them out them on your favorite serving plate. Of course I had to save Dylan’s personalized plate for him to use for his lunch. His friends were jealous. Maybe I should make them all plates for senior year next year. HA HA HA!!! Serve with other yummy sides. Macaroni and Cheese is always a hit for most kids.
Enjoy time with your kids. They grow so fast!
