This post is dedicated to Sarah Beise, a fellow licensed artist! It is also special because it was made with lots of love for my beautiful stepdaughters, Jordan (and Big Bear) and Zoe (and Fluffy Bunny). Sarah designs LOTS and LOTS of gift bags and when she exhibits, she puts tissue paper in them. At the end of Surtex 2012, she gave me the tissue paper and I made this. I meant to post it a long time ago, but…well….you know….
This year she found me at the end of the show and gave me the 2013 batch. I was so excited that I think I might have hugged her too many times. I am not sure if was more excited about the paper or her thoughtful kindness. I CAN”T WAIT to make something else. Until then…I share with you… “The Stuffie Hotel”.
We took a large box and cut it up into a two floored hotel with triangular roof. Then we cut up the tissue paper into approximately 6 inch squares and used Mod Podge to decorate the outside of the hotel.
We painted the doors with pink Chalkboard Paint from Plaid and the back of the house in green Chalkboard Paint Plaid too. This makes for a fun surface for leaving messages and doodling.
Then we decorated it with pictures on the walls and placemats for rugs, added some animals and started playing!
And playing…
And we are still playing!
Happy Making Stuff with Awesome BRIGHT tissue paper.
Cheers to sharing, friendship and Sarah Beise!
Love,
Laura
