This week I am so very excited about being the sponsor for Camp Doll Diaries.
I decided that Saige, our newest American Girl Doll, would benefit from having a portfolio to keep track of her masterpieces.
I up-cycled a travel size Q-tip container into a traveling portfolio, complete with art that was created by Jordan and Zoe.
I used Mod Podge For Kids to decorate the front with a pattern paper and the “ART” cutout available in the free download for this project. When working with Mod Podge and kids, I find it best to use a sponge brush and make sure that there is a coat under and over each layer of paper applied to the project.
Then I added ribbon and Laura Kelly buttons from Buttons Galore to make it into a shoulder bag for the doll.
Then I cut out the art masterpieces from the download and added them into the portfolio. You can use these that were drawn by kids here or create your own. The size that fits is 3″ x 2 1/2″.
Here it is. I added a ribbon flower to make it a little but sassier.
Off she goes…to Camp Doll Diaries to have a magnificent time creating and learning!
If you want to find out how to make her an art apron, visit the blog post on Doll Diaries.
I love her mini Mod Podge. 🙂
Happy Creating, Happy Girls and Happy Dolls!
