Today I found myself in need of a white shirt for Maria to go with her denim shorts (a project for Doll Diaries this week) and struck out in the doll clothes. Looking around, I spotted a white sock on the floor (my husband’s) and my mind turned into a tube top for her.
I cut the sock at five inches with Fiskar‘s pinking shears.
Then I sewed four pieces of 10 inch long ribbon with buttons (Radical Red from Laura Kelly for Buttons Galore) -two on the front and two on the back.
I cut a red felt heart and another a little smaller from white Phoomph to adhere it to the top.
It fits like a charm. I think she likes it. I know I do.
Happy stylish crafting with SOCKS and whatever else you use to create!
PS: Here she is wearing it to a patriotic picnic. If you want to make the flowerpot or the sign, you can visit that blog post and find out how. The shorts and sparkler projects will be on Doll Diaries later this week.
PPS: I think she wants something else from this sock. She has my Fiskars pinking shears ready to cut. Any ideas?
