There are lots of things that I love and here are four of them mixed together…Teenage Girls, Rit Dye, Buttons and Back to School…combined together in the spirit of the Rit Dye and Buttons Galore DIY Back to School Blog Hop!
Girls will be girls and that means that inevitably they will need something that they might not have when it comes to be stuck at high school during the day and am emergency arises. Yes, being without a highlighter, mints or a tampon could make or break the day of a teenager girl.
Here is a fun project that can help solve the problems before they ever come up. Create an emergency kit of possible necessities in the colors of your choice with a white zipper pouch and Rit dye in your favorite colors (school colors would be fun too)!
I dip dyed the white cosmetic bag (from Michaels for only $1), half in Rit Fuchsia and half in Rit Purple.
I added a button flower with matching buttons from Buttons Galore and More (Laura Kelly’s Watermelon, Purple Possibilities and Apple Green) and embroidery floss from Coats and Clark.
I tied a piece of ribbon to the zipper and filled the bag with the necessary items that might be required in the day of high school girl in despair. And now for the fun part…wrapping it up and giving it to my beautiful niece.
There is an awesome contest for this blog hop with a fabulous prize. I hope you will take a break and enter it and follow these fun designers.
Happy Dyeing, Creating and Saving the Day,

Fabulous. I love these gorgeous colors.
What a great idea! I have two girls in the house that would love the craft and always keep an emergency bag in their backpacks.
I adore that little button flower!
I love the button flower and I think these would make great teacher gifts too. Tuck in a little gift card…
What a great idea. Purple is really big right now, so I’m sure this bag will be a hit with the trendy set.
