You Will be “Dyeing” to Make These DIY Collection Jars For Back to School

So I got a little bit crazy with the Rit Dye creating projects for the Back to School with Rit Dye and Buttons Galore Blog Hop.  I made too many projects.  I posted the Emergency Bag this morning and saved this one for tonight.  I LOVE it.  If you are wondering about the book on the Apple Button Easel, my friend illustrated it and is beautiful.  Her name is Stacey Willams-Ng and the book is Sitting on a Zinnia.  I also spy a Viewtainer full of buttons in that picture.  I love those storage containers.

Okay, back to the project.  I dyed the Scrabble tiles in Cherry Red and Kelly Green Rit Dyes to spell out those little labels that we clip like mad around here.

Then I dyed some twine.  It was so fun to watch it take color so quickly.

I tied the twine around the top of recycled jars (pickles and olives I think) and used Ad-tech hot glue to adhere a few buttons from my Laura Kelly mix (Buttons Galore and More) and the tiles to spell out the words.

I think they are super fun.  They could be used for collecting at home or given to a teacher for a classroom gift.

If you want to enter a contest to win this amazing prize, we hope you will take the time to do it. There are so many talented and fun designers participating in this one!

Happy Creating and Dyeing,

Laura

It’s a great idea to dye Scrabble tiles! So many ways to use them, so little time.
