I think that sprinkles are just the funnest invention ever. Nothing is quite as colorful, sweet and simple as a bottle of sprinkles. I have been known to put them on all kinds of things, even send them to kids in the mail to brighten up life during difficult times.
My son is going to FRESHMAN orientation which mean I will be the mom of TWO HIGH SCHOOL boys. Just to test their playful and fun levels, I decided to bake something and use sprinkes to measure the reaction. I assessed my “on hand” stash of ingredients.
Then I decided to made them Rice Krispy Treats with SPRINKLES to get their reaction. Of course, they laughed at me (like they sometimes do) and reminded me that they will always be happy when I bake, regardless of the toppings. Their friend who is here today said that he thinks they are lucky that I put sprinkles on their food. He knows because I made him pancakes with sprinkles last time he slept over.
I thought they came out pretty cute so I am sharing!
I used the Rice Krispy recipe for the treats. I always grease the pan really good with butter. I can tell it is fully greased when I can doodle in the butter. I used the butter wrapper to press the batter flat in the pan.
Once they are cooled off (in the fridge), I put the whole thing on parchment paper and cut them up, this time into 4 big pieces. Lots of butter makes them pop out easily!
Then I dipped them in white chocolate and SPRINKLES! Yummy, don’t you think!
And now for the best part…I Googled Cake Mate to get a link and I found out that I can order SPRINKLES IN BULK! I am in love all over again and currently so inebriated with giddiness that I can’t even decide what colors to start with!
Have A SPRINKLERIFIC Day,
