This is project number three and my favorite so far. I used a canvas cross body bag, some canvas rolled fabric from the mixed media section in the store and a canvas flower along with Rit Dyes in Fuchsia and Purple (found way over in the sewing area).
I dyed the bag in the Fuchsia and the fabric and flower in the purple. I didn’t leave them in very long because I didn’t want them to get too dark.
Then I rinsed them in the kitchen sink and set them out to dry. They took a while to dry so I packed it all up and brought it to the beach to finish.
When I was done, I had an extra piece of the purple dyed canvas strip that was long enough to make Piper a new bow. How adorable is she on the beach sporting her new accessory?
I am having a really fabulous time playing with Rit Dye and learning how it works on different surfaces and for different types of projects. I like the way this purse looks on the backside too.
It is time to pick which project I will do for number four out of the ten! If you want to win a much of Rit Dye and a $50 card to Amazon, you can enter here.
Cheers from the beach,
