But now that I have dyes and rubber bands and gloves and all of this fabulous stuff to work with, I decided I really needed to get organized. Before I could do any more, my slight OCD kicked in and I spent some time in my studio making new homes for supplies and products.Okay, so back to the project! The aprons are so adorable, one for a grown up and one for a kid.
I dyed them in Scarlett Red and Dark Green (traditional Christmas colors would be Cherry Red and Kelly Green) but I wanted to be slightly different, I know…surprise! Then I cut off some of the ties and replaced them with ribbon (my fave – black with white polka dots). I used the ties that I cut off to form bows and sewed them on to the opposite apron’s pocket.
I added buttons from my Laura Kelly line of buttons available through Buttons Galore in the colors Candy Apple Green and Radically Red. I love these buttons because they are dyed in my color palette but because they are all different sizes and shapes, they offer such a fabulous variety for creating. TA DA! I can’t wait to have a little friend over to bake with me!
Happy Dyeing and Making Colorful Magic (and Getting Organized Too),
