September 1st marks the first day of the Halloween Season, for me anyway. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday and while I could celebrate the magic of it all of the time, there is something special that comes with the changing of the seasons and candy corn hitting the shelves in stores everywhere. I think it is time to start getting inspired to create awesome things for the season so this post marks day One of Thirty Days of Halloween Fun With Me, Laura! (#30daysofhalloweenwithme)
To get this season started, we had fun pancakes this morning to kick off the celebration. I gathered some of my favorite ingredients and baking things to get started.
Here are a couple of fun Halloween pancake ideas with Hungry Jack’s super easy mix. Pumpkin shaped pancakes using cookie cutters on the griddle. I added Wilton‘s orange food coloring to the batter to make them colored.
You can stack them up.
You can decorate them with candy. I used eye candy from Wilton on these.
You can add Wilton food coloring to the pancake batter in yellow too and make candy corn shapes on the griddle.
It is fun to just make the strips so kids can play with their food and cut or tear them to make their own candy corn fun.
My favorite picture from this fun cooking adventure is the 3 pumpkin pancakes all ready to eat!
I am an advocate for accessing creativity whenever and wherever possible. Color is a great way to turn things brighter, cheerier…and well just more fun. Just think of all of the pancake creations you could make with a little Wilton food coloring in the batter.
Happy Almost Halloween,
