When I was in New York City a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of spending a morning shopping at M and J Trims. All I can say is WOW! I had a complete and total blast. I found so many amazing trims that I can dye with Rit Dye to create…magic! Today I made a Frankenstein belt buckle that I can’t wait to share but first…check out these pictures from the store.
So while I was shopping and shopping and shopping, Rebecca was on a conference call in the midst of all of this amazingness. I don’t really know how she did it. I would have been totally distracted.
Back to Frankenstein…
I gathered some of the burlap trims and buttons and ric rac and such and got my dye baths ready (in jars of course) to create this belt buckle of the monster.
I dyed some trims in Apple Green and others in Black.
Then I rinsed them and let them dry before assembling them together with hot glue. This is my fashion Frank.
I am debating whether to wear him with jeans or over the sweater with a black shirt underneath…or maybe green or maybe leggings with cowboy boots??? What do you think?
I can’t wait to get out more trims tomorrow and create something new. Next up I will be dyeing feathers to create a costume for Doll Diaries. What would you choose to dye next from this stash of fabulousness?
Happy Dyeing From me and Frank,
