Thanksgiving is the time to reflect and be thankful for our many blessings. I am thankful for so much and love to celebrate this holiday with my family, children and friends. We make decorations and of course doodling is a part of the fun.
I gathered up a bag of my mixed color collection of buttons from Buttons Galore, Glue Dots, scissor and crayons. I created a free printable that you can download to get started if you don’t want to doodle up your own autumn designs. If you like playing with buttons, I share a project every Friday on the Buttons Galore and More blog with quick ideas and craft projects called Fifteen MINUTE Friday.
After you print it, cut the different designs apart and color them with crayons. I used a new pack of 24 Crayolas because I love the sharp tips and the way they smell when they are brand new.
Then I added buttons with Glue Dots to create some 3D character. You could use beads, sequins, felt, construction paper. I would LOVE to see what you create.
I mounted my four masterpieces onto card stock and cut around it to frame them in. For a few of them I added holes and tied yarn through them to create decorative signs.
My favorite is the one of the turkey. I want to do this one a few more times with other crafting supplies that I have around the studio.
You can use the same doodles and techniques to create adorable cards too. Wouldn’t this be a fun note to receive in your mailbox. There are more design ideas on my Fifteen MINUTE Friday at Buttons Galore and More.
I hope you have lots to be thankful for and find ways to celebrate, decorate and create with your kids too.
