This very well might be my favorite project so far this season. I love it. I love that the message of thankful is a part of it and is came out in such beautiful seasonal colors. I love that the bunting make a great centerpiece for a table or a great decoration for around the house.
I used all pre-cut pieces for Canvas Corp that I purchased at A.C. Moore. I LOVE their stuff. I spelled out the letters for T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L on individual pre-cut mini pennants with Elmers Glue and let it dry completely.
Then I dyed them with Rit Dye in Dark Green, rinsed completely and ironed dry.
I dyed the fringe in a combination of Wine and Cocoa Brown. I rinsed it and let it dry while I stitched buttons from my Laura Kelly collection with Buttons Galore Bold Brown). I also added Velcro to the mini pennant back to adhere them to the fringe.
To create the stands to hold the bunting up, I used two Mason jars. I taped skewers together to make them tall enough then covered in burlap ric-rac with hot glue. I stuck them in Styrofoam balls in the bottoms of the jars then filled them up with a holiday pine cone mix. I used hot glue to adhere the fringe ends to the skewers.
The finished project works great for a tabletop decoration.
It works great outdoors with the fall gourds and pumpkins.
I love the way the letters come off and can be put back on again so the kids can take it apart and play with it. I think the more times they spell T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L the better!
Thankful ends with L. L is for LOVE!
