I have been playing with lots of my craft supplies to create Thanksgiving projects and this one took me into the outdoors. I mixed together 1 cup flour, 2/3 cup water, 4 T corn syrup and 5 cups of birdseed then pressed it between waxed paper and put cookie cutter in it. When it was hard, 6 hours later, I took them apart. I like this mix from KAYTEE because it holds together well.
I dyed twines in Rit Dye to hang them. It is non toxic so safe to use. I did extra for Christmas too because we are going to make Christmas ones soon. I used that to hang them up.
I hung them in the trees and they look so fun. The birds are going to LOVE their treats.
The one shaped like pumpkins we cut out and out on the back deck to enjoy. Lots of birds come to our feed there so we thought they might like a new little surprise.
Happy Feeding Everyone this Thanksgiving, even the birds!
