It is day 13 of Thirty Days of Christmas With Me, Laura (#30DaysOfChristmasWithMe) already! A quick stop in at A.C. Moore and an hour later I was done creating this fun basket to get my home smelling like the holiday season. I picked up the basket out front in the sidewalk bins, the pine cone potpourri in the breezeway and then wandered a bit to gather the Rit Dye in holiday colors along with the canvas fringe (from Canvas Corp).
When I got home, I made a dye bath in the kitchen sink with HOT water and the red and dip dyed the basket. I threw in a wooden bead to dye at the same time to add to the bow. While it was soaking up the color, I created a dye bath in a jar to dye the “fringe” green. Then I rinsed everything, ironed the fringe dry and tied a bow to the basket. I filled it with the potpourri and done I was.
I think it turned out quite lovely. I plan to make some more of these baskets to fill with baked goodies for neighbors and friends. I might give them a pink bow as an “extra” so they can use the basket right in to Valentines Day.
I dyed this too. I bet you wonder what is is going to be…
I will give you a hint. It is big and carries things. Any ideas???
