I am resharing this post from last year in a blog hop with all of these other great DIY ideas for kids and families!
You can enter to win a fabulous contest as a part of this week’s sharing fun too!
I am so excited to re-share this post this way! In sharing this, I am sharing so much of myself and what I believe in, who I am and what I stand for. I doodled my gift wrap this holiday season for my family. I love to create ways to connect and share our talents and God given gifts of love.
This is my gift wrap station. I love my Westcott scissors and twine from Canvas Corp almost as much as my own button colors from Buttons Galore and More. I could never had done this without my gift from Ad-tech, hot glue guns and fabulous glue sticks.
Of course I am totally in love with my custom Sharpie markers that they sent me as gifts for being on the Sharpie Squad and for my wedding gift. I also used recycled grocery bags from throughout the year.
Do you wrap up challenge gifts for your kids?
We LOVE the challenge gifts. They get opened early on the first days of break. Inside the box there are two matching things (one for each kid) such as a puzzle, lego set, Kinects set, etc. The kids race to finish. There is also a prize in the box (sometimes something they can share when they are young) for whoever finished first. The last winner was Dylan with the record speed of building Mario on a motorcycle. This year’s challenge is going to be hysterical! There are great prizes in these boxes too. I can’t wait to play.
Speaking of playing, “A family that plays together, stays together.” These gifts get opened early too and have things we do as a family in them. Last year we got a HUGE marble run that took all day to build together. Sometimes we get things for baking as a family and sometime we get new games to play. This year’s is going to create some teamwork. I wish I could share what is in the box but my sneaky kids might be reading this!
I also wrap each kid a Betty Crocker baking mix. They get to open these early so we can play in the kitchen and create treats to share on our family tray covered in our custom “Me and My Peeps“! I make sure to wrap Dawson up the peanut butter cookie mix because that is his “specialty” by adding Hershey kisses when they come out of the oven.
I am so thankful for so many things during the holidays and every day. I am thankful for my family and my friends. I am thankful for the companies that I work with and the relationships that they have created in my life. I am thankful for the many new friends that I have made through the craft industry that I so dearly love and thankful for the technology that allows us to be close even when we are states apart.
Happy Creating and Doodling up some Family LOVE,
