At CHA in January, I received lots of love from my friends and Krylon and a mystery box/bag filled with random crafting supplies. The challenge was to use at least four of the supplies and create a project. Here the bag filled with goodies just hanging on my apron rack waiting to be put in to action. It was given to me at the Fave Crafts Blogger Event and if you love it and want to support me winning $1000, you can vote for it here!
I chose to use the canvas pennants, corks, mini clothespins and the round cardboard box. The first thing after decided what I would create was run to Michael’s to get Krylon spray paint. I chose Mambo Pink and Glitter Blast for the sealer. When I got back, I out on my apron and got ready to get serious.
I started with the pennants by stitching them up into petals.
Then I cut the corks in half and spray painted them with Gloss Black (already had that) along with the clothespins then put them on cardboard to dry. When they were dry I added white polka-dots. Yay!
I spray painted the cardboard box and the canvas petals with the Mambo Pink and let them dry completely.
Then I used hot glue and put it all together and sprayed the whole thing, even the fabric, with Glitter Blast Clear Sealer!
I added a piece of dyed green canvas for a stem and a place for the clothespins to be used as little note holders.
The cool part is that the flower opens up and secret surprises can be hid inside. Look what is already being stashed…a little creature, a band bracelet and a Zot. How cool is that?
I really think it is fun and totally works with the table that I found in the dumpster and painted to match. Now, THAT…that is a whole other story. I will save the story of the dumpster table for another day.
Cheers,
Laura
