Dreams come true!
When I started licensing my artwork and designs many years ago I was asked, “What is your dream license?” Most designers seem to dream of having their artwork on fabric or gift items. Some dream of having it appear on food packaging and paper goods. My dream was clear. I wanted my designs to become dies that could be used on Ellison machines in schools for teachers to use with their students. It seemed simple. My designs are cute, kid friendly and educational. And so I set out to meet with the folks at Ellison, the greatest company I could think of that I would want to partner with for this endeavor.
And I did. And I found out that they did not use licensed designs for education. The only licensed for the craft industry. I felt defeated, mostly. I don’t give up easily on my dreams. I met with them again and again and again and then I got a phone call. THE PHONE CALL! Their team had decided it was time to give it a try. They believed in me, my designs and my dream was now a match for their dreams. After many months of planning and developing, my first set of tester dies arrived. This is the first set of stuff that I created right when they came out of the box (last winter)!
And here it is in pictures, the dream that came true in my new studio on a table made from an old door. A dream product to create dream projects in a dream studio!!!
My designs are in DIES that you can buy and use for making things that work with kids in schools and churches AND for making fabulous crafty projects too.
I am over the moon excited and want to thank a few people for supporting this in happening over these past few years as my life has changed drastically and thing weren’t always easy. First of all, shout outs to my amazing and loving husband Rypster my Rock Star. His support and daily impact on my heart make my spirits soar. I could not have done this without my “intern” and bestest buddy, Katie Berry. Her graphic design talents and never ending championing for my growth made all of the difference. And then there is Sandi Genovese. She is my Ellison hero who has taught me so much about how things really work with patience, instruction and kindness.
I am in LOVE with the first two sets that have launched. The Pet Shop collection is designed to be fun, to be used as independent pieces and also as flashcards. I LOVE it.
The Shapesters are the characters from my popular board book. They are awesome for teaching shapes and can also be used as monsters and fun creatures for DIY projects all over the board.
These two sets are going to rock the socks off of many. And in the spring when the NEW sets lauch… Well, we can save that for the spring.
Until then, I hope you love them as much as I do. If you want a few cutouts to play with, let me know and I will send them to you. If you do a project, please share it with me. I can’t wait for these to inspire and support creativity EVERYWHERE!
