This post is not sponsored. It is totally on my own doing because this was a great adventure worth sharing in entirety.
Let me start by saying that I have been a Hammond’s Candies fan since wayyyyy before I moved to Denver. I owned a stationery and gift boutique for MANY years in North Carolina and carried their awesome products for the people in my little town of Apex. I keep seeing (and buying) their fantastic products everywhere this season.
Over the years, I have purchased it when I find it out and about but since moving here to Colorado, BAMMM…it is everywhere. Well of course, come to find out the factory is here so today I buddied up with my bloggy friend from Housewife Hellraiser, Laura Neiman, and our fams and off we went to tour and shop. The old truck out front was the start of an amazing adventure.
The decor while we waited for our tour called for photographs. Check it out.
The tour was fantastic. The kids were glued to the glass watching the employees making giant candy canes, a process that takes 90 minutes from start to finish. Aiden was our tour guide and he had a sparkly sweet personality and knowledge like crazy about the company and Denver and so many fabulous facts. I give him a TEN.
And well…the retail store. OMGEEEE!!! I think that pictures here say it all! I love that they have the original sign on display.
And the candy…oh the candy…
And the chocolates…oh my goodness….
My biggest takeaway is that good things (like family and true friendships) endure the good and the bad times over spans of decades. The foundation of Hammond’s Candies is one built on solid ethics and GREAT recipes for candy and success.
If you are ever in the Denver area, this gets to be added to your “Must Do
list. It is fun, educational and sweet. I am so glad we went and look forward to giving out gifts of Hammond’s Candy to many this holiday season.
If you live here, next weekend is the Candy Cane Festival at Hammond’s Candy and it is going to be a ton of fun for kids of all ages!
