My favorite part of a muffin is that sweet, crumbly top part. I played around with ingredients and this is my favorite! It is a 3 ingredient crumble for muffins but would be awesome on breads and other baked goodies too!
It is so easy peasy and it is so delicious and sweet and CRUMBLY!!! Crumble for muffins can be used on cakes, cupcakes, donuts and well, really anything!
Here it is…
- 3/4 C Sugar
- 1 C Flour (Can use Almond Flour for Gluten Free Version)
- 1 Stick Butter
- Mix the sugar and flour in a bowl. Melt the butter and stir it into the sugar/flour. Mix until crumbly then add to muffins when they are half way through the baking time in the oven. I pushed holes in the middle of the muffins so the crumble would be all the way into the middles.
You could add flavorings too. It would be really good with spices and extracts to compliment your baked treats. If you try one out, please share how your crumble for muffins turns out.
In them meantime, check out what we did with four from this batch. We bagged them up and delivered them to our neighbors for helping us with some gardening tips yesterday. They look so fun and festive with the hand stamped baking tag and the matching cupcake liner to decorate the bag.
That stamp! That adorable stamp is one I designed for Expressionery and you can get it HERE!
