It is day TWO of Craft Lightning! If you missed all of the excitement of day ONE, you can check it out here! Yippee for projects that can be done fast as lightning!
Whether you are a teacher or a parent, you deserve a way to have daily and open communication about your kiddos or students when it comes to education. After all, kids spend the majority of the awake hours on weekdays in the classroom and parents can support best when they know what is happening. These DIY home school communication journals are quick and easy to create and come in SUPER handy. It is a great communication resource for teachers, parents AND the students as well as a fabulous way to document the year.
You will need a composition book. The great thing is that these now come in so many formats, wide ruled, photo grid and college ruled. They are inexpensive at back to school time too which is a plus.
Simply decorate covers that measure a bit smaller than the surface using decorative papers then laminate them to the books. You can do this either with decopauge or clear packing tape. I used my NEW dies that I designed for Ellison and Sizzix, the ME AND MY PEEPS collection. You can get the dies in the girl and the boy and they rock. They come with the little ‘peep’ character and all kinds of clothing and accessories to personalize them.
This might be a super fun thing to do on the first day of school if you are a teacher! Of course, you would get to pre-cut lots of fun pieces which might get your creativity stirring causing you to create bunches of paper dolls!
Check out the other projects happening in the Craft Lightning Back-To-School series happening this week!
Cheers and Happy Communicating,
