Hello Watermelon Notes Handmade Cards

Sometimes things just happen because of what is left out on the paper crafting table.  These Hello Watermelon notes just happened today. I love it when the supplies that are around inspire me to create and those creations come out this adorable. I am a fan of all things watermelon so these handmade cards are perfect for sending out a little happy mail!

These scraps were leftover from the party favor boxes I made for the Sizzix blog and well, uh, they never really got put back away.  These awesome papers are from JoAnn’s and I LOVE them!  There is something really awesome about thick card stock that comes in bright and cheerful colors.

Supplies

I cut a watermelon half by hand from the pink then adhered it to the green with Aleene’s Tacky Tape.  I cut the green a little bit bigger to create the rind.  Then I cut a few little seeds from the black.  It is actually black with white polka dots which by the way, is my jam!

BackOfCard

I hand stamped the back with my favorite self-inking stamp that I designed for Expressionery (and the envelope too because I like the stamp so much).

Square

The scalloped card was cut using Sizzix’s die called Scallop Card from kraft card stock then I added the watermelon and trimmed the bottom around it.  I used my Laura Kelly Sharpie to write ‘Hello’.  And now to write a note and send someone some happy mail.  I have just the person in mind.

Cheers and Happy Paper Crafting!!!

Laura
