National Girl Scout Day

It’s National Girl Scout Day today.  I have been a Girl Scout for 41 years … and counting.  I gathered up a few of my favorite Girl Scout posts to share.  Here they are.

Feature

One of my favorite Girl Scout traditions (new since I was a kid) is the exchanging of SWAPS.  If you are not sure what they are, hop over to the blog post about them and check it out HERE.

Of course selling cookies is a HUGE tradition.  Through the selling of cookies as I grew up, I learned about responsibility, integrity and reaching goals.  This DIY Recycled Cookie Box Photo Booth was a huge support to our sales the year we used it with Zoe’s Brownie troop.  Find out how I made it HERE.

As the girls get older, they have more and more to organize and handle for meetings and badge earning.  This bag that I made for each  of the scouts in my troop this year has been helpful and full of meaning.  Read about them HERE.

Camping is my favorite Girl Scout tradition.  I grew up attending Camp Henry Kaufman in Pennsylvania.  My girls go to Sky High Ranch here in Colorado.  Last time we were there as a troop we learned about Fire Safety through sweet treats.  Check it out HERE.

This year our troop won the Colorado Bling Your Booth Contest.  You can find out more about that HERE.

Girl Scouts is an amazing way to teach girls about the things that matter most in life.  For more information about all it has to offer in Colorado, check out their website HERE.

If you have a Girl Scout idea on your blog that you would like to share, please add it!

I was assistant Girls Camp Leader with my daughter Autymm’s troop. We had so much fun. I agree it truly taught her so much. We went to Camp at Camp Treefoil here in Utah and had a blast. It taught her service, skills and friendship. I love Girl Scouts!!! Thanks for this awesome post! Loves- Madge
