Before I get started on snowmen and DIY, I want to first mention that this post is inspired by Laura from Pet Scribbles. She gave me a handmade PINK painted jar as a gift a while back and it sits on my desk with my fave markers from Tombow in it. This jar is the reason these DIY snowmen jars happened.
These DIY snowman jar gifts are super simple to make and darling to use for giving special treats. I actually made this batch to sell at a Crafty Open House I am hosting next weekend with a couple of friends but thought I would share for those of you who like to make things yourselves! I think they are PERFECT for these delicious cocoa stirring sticks from World Market but also can think of a bazillion other ways to use them.
You will need just a few things. Here is a list:
- Ball Jars (any size works but these are the really tiny ones)
- Acrylic Paint (white, black, orange)
- Sanding Block
- Sealant (deco-pauge works great)
- Ribbon or Fabric for Scarf
Okay, let’s get started. Paint your jar white and let it dry completely.
Sand it just a little to give it a rustic, worn look. Add your eyes, nose and mouth and let dry completely then add a layer of deco-pauge to seal it. Use either fabric or ribbon to tie on a scarf. Ta Da!
Oh yeah, did I mention that I added a little red heart to the backs of each one?
If you love snowmen, here is another fun crafty project for you, snowman magnets and notes! It is also super easy and fun.
Happy Creating and Cheers,
