Today for day four of Craft Lightning Patriotic series I am thrilled to share this easy project for felt firecracker placemats. I love working with felt and am proud to be on the Kunin Group Dream Team sharing felt projects a couple of times a month. This one is already a fave of mine.
You really only need felt and a way to put it together, I sewed mine on my bestest machine ever, my Baby Lock Melody, but you could use fabric glue too.
The base is a piece of blue eco-fi Plus cut to 18 x 9 inches. It is so easy to cut with my new Olfa rotary cutter and mat that I got from Nancy’s Notions when I took a sewing class at SNAP Conference.
I got these scissors from Nancy’s Notions and I am serious when I say that they are life changing. Cutting felt can be a task but these cut through four pieces at a time like butter.
I added stripes and dots in red and white with zig zag stitching. Ta Da! I love them with the drinks in mason jars.
There are so many fantastic projects today in this series.
Let’s start with this one. I mean, how darling are the confetti poppers over on See Lindsay? She used her Cricut Explore to make them.
Yesterday on Tuesday is sharing the tutorial for this mini patriotic sign.
Oh my gosh, I love this next one. Laura from Laura’s Crafty Life steals the show with a chalkboard star that features PAPER STRAWS. I love paper straws! I love Laura too.
Ann Makes create a darling cat accessory.
Ducktape and Denim has great directions for making tassels from embroidery floss.
Jen from 100 Directions has great ideas for painting rocks.
Storypiece is sharing wine charm tassels for patriotic entertaining.
See you tomorrow for even more great ideas!
Laura
