It is the second day of the 2018 DIY Easter series. Yay!!!
This darling chicks and carrots tic-tac-toe game is really fun to make and then to play. It is so cute that it also serves as a little Easter and springtime decor for a tabletop. Using Sculpey III clay is great for beginners and experts, works well for children and creates magnificent results. I made the ten game pieces in about twenty minutes so it is a fun project to do even when time is scarce. This post is sponsored by Sculpey but the ideas and opinions are my own. The artwork in the printable is mine too.
To get started, you will need Sculpey III clay in the following colors; orange, yellow, black and green. Of course, any colors could be used really. Kids like to get creative and if they want to make purple chicks, get them purple clay.
If you saw this post a while back, these little clay pieces would work great too for kiddos and Girl Scouts all year round.
Roll five yellow balls with clay, no bigger than one inch in diameter.
Mold the yellow balls into chick bodies with your fingers.
Add yellow wings to the balls and orange beaks. (Add black eyes too.)
Roll five small orange balls and smash them flat. Cut them into the center and pull apart a little to make feet. Place a yellow chick on each set of feet and push the pieces together gently.
Make five carrot pieces for the game too.
Print out the game board. I mounted it on card stock (Orange Check by Adorn-It – designed by ME)! You can get the game board FREE and print as many copies as you would like. There are game pieces too.
You can buy Sculpey clay at your local craft store or online. If you have never tried it; give it a whirl. I would love to know what you think about working with it. I find it relaxing and fun.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another great little DIY Easter springtime project.
